District Weddings has an list of bridal / wedding events for January, including trunk shows and paper bag parties, which are both fun for brides and bridesmaids alike.

Although one of my New Year’s resolutions (again) is to lose weight, but I will be violating it at the next happy hour with this Red Velvet Caketini, recipe compliments of D.C. Girls in Pearls.

…and to atone for this, I’ll be making this Apple, Fennel, and Manchego salad, compliments of Radar to the Scene.

Moneywise Moms got the scope on something fun (and free) to do this weekend.

From one writer to another, I’d like to congratulate Hilarity in Shoes (who is both hilarious and an avid shoe wearer) on her recent accomplishment.

Happy New Year, One and All!

DC’ers are all a twitter about the holidays, their families, friends, and goals for the New Year. Here are a few of my favorite stories and posts from the Holidays:

Pretty Pennies lists some goals and desires for the New Year.

Not one for “specific dates to start change”, DC Big Pappa shares the resolution he started back in November. Though it’s not a “New Years Resolution”, I identify with his weight loss journey.

Are Egg Laying Gnomes omens for a prosperous New Year? Metro DC Lawn and Garden Blog discovered that she has an unexplained and unexpected visitor in her home.
